You know how you have those friends where you won't see each other for literal ages, but when you finally do see each other again, it's like no time has passed? Like you can just pick up where you left off because nothing has changed? In a weird way, that's how it feels to see Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen make rare public appearances this week, because they seriously haven't changed a single thing about their signature looks.
A lot of celebrities have signature looks—think Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Julia Roberts, etc. But we see these celebrities with enough regularity that we have the opportunity to witness them slightly switch things up every now and then before going back to their gorgeous comfort zones. With the Mary-Kate and Ashley, years can go by without a Getty image (the one at the top of this story is one of the most recent—and it's from 2019), and when they emerge from whatever it is they may be doing (extremely cool, chic things, I presume, like desiging clothing and quietly cheering on sister Elizabeth after very successfully claiming the family acting crown), it seems as if they've been frozen in time in the best way possible.
Because what isn't timeless about long, loosely wavy, middle-parted hair?
Earlier this week, Mary-Kate was seen enjoying the U.S. Open wrapped in a boho paisley scarf draped with her equally boho golden-bronde hair. And on Thursday night, Ashley attended the YES Scholars 25th Anniversary Gala with her husband and mother-in-law, wearing an oversized trench from the twins' own fashion brand, The Row, and tucking her center-parted strands behind her ears.

They both kept their makeup as low-key as their hair, serving the same indie cool-girl vibes they always do whenever they've been spotted over the last decade or so.
We hope Mary-Kate and Ashley don't go back into hibernation after these appearances because we really do love an Olsen style moment, as charmingly predictable as it may be.
